Benjamin J. Crooks

Mr. Crooks joined the CGL team in 2004 after serving as the Detention Director of a local adult detention facility in El Dorado, Kansas, where he led the transition from a linear detention facility to a state of the art, direct supervision facility.  His responsibilities included the oversight of construction of the new facility, developing policy and procedure, creating a comprehensive training program, coordinating and implementing the move of inmates, developing contracts, public relations, and constant coordination with governmental and private officials.

Mr. Crooks began his law enforcement and corrections career in the US Army in 1988 as a Military Police Officer. He has worked in the private and public sectors as a Certified Fraud Examiner and risk mitigation consultant. He is currently a member of the Army Reserves as a Chief Instructor of the Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course at the Military Police Institutional Training Center.

Mr. Crooks' hands on experience with day-to-day operations enable him to evaluate projects in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. His training brackground and experience will assist clients in the planning, development and implementation of comprehensive staff preparation leading up to facility activation.  He is a member of the American Correctional Association and American Jail Association.
